ZAMQUAT is a non-systemic, non selective, post-emergence herbicide used for the control of a wide variety of grasses and broad-leaved weeds. It kills all green tissues. It can be used in plantations/row crops, minimum tillage for vegetables and cereal, as well as on non-crop land.
This herbicide can be used for the broad-spectrum control of weeds, in fruit orchards, plantation crops (bananas, coffee, etc.) tea, sugarcane, ornamental trees and shrubs in forestry.
It is a rapidly inactivated by soil thus has no residual hazards.
Non-selective contact herbicide, absorbed by the foliage, with some translocation in the xylem. During photosynthesis, superoxine is generated which damages cell membranes and cytoplasm.
| Weeds | Rate/Hectare | Rate in 20L |
| Broad leaved weeds and grasses | 2L/ha (in 400ml/20L water) | 100ml/20L water |
NOTE: It is advisable to apply ZAMQUAT when weeds are young (15 cm high or less)
